How much does a Renewable energy system cost?
Air Source Heat Pumps - this depends on the type of heat pump that you select and the size of your property / premises. Though typically you can expect the range to be from £7,000 - £15,000 including installation costs. Though remember, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) Grant will take £5,000 off of this final price. Mechanical Ventilation & Heat Recovery (MVHR) - this depends on the system being installed, and the size of the property / premises. Though typically the MVHR systems start from around £3,000 up to £8,0000 including installation costs
Solar Panels - this depends on the size of the property / premises and whether you want panels or tiles. Though typically the average solar panel system costs between £5,000 - £10,000 including installation costs
How long does it take to install Renewable energy systems?
Air Source Heat Pumps - depending on the size of the property and complexity of the work an air source heat pump can be installed in a day, though generally we allow for a couple of days to fully install. For larger scale work this will take longer, we can discuss this when planning for your work
Mechanical Ventilation & Heat Recovery (MVHR) - depending on the type of system and complexity of the works, the average installation will generally take two to three days to complete. For larger scale work this will take longer, we can discuss this when planning for your work
Solar Panels - depending on the type of solar panels (panels / tiles) that you are installing, it will typically take us a day or two to install on a standard property. For larger scale work this will take longer, we can discuss this when planning for your work
As part of our quote to you we will clearly lay out how long it will take to complete the installation, we will also advise how long it will take us to source the systems (delivery expectations)
How long do Renewable energy systems last and what are the warranty periods?
Air Source Heat Pumps - typically lasts around 15 years if well maintained, warranty period vary dependent on the system that is being installed, though generally will be around 2-5 years
Mechanical Ventilation & Heat Recovery (MVHR) - typically lasts around 10 years if well maintained, most systems come with either a 1, or 2 year warranty, though this varies dependent on the system being installed
Solar Panels - typically last around 25 years + if well maintained - most of the solar panel system comes with either a 10 or 25-year performance warranty

We can also advise which systems are best to go for based on the project size and complexity. Government Grants For Renewable Energy UK 2022 (fmb.org.uk) - this is from the Federation of Master Builders and this page has been created to guide you on the UK Government Grants that are available to you for your Renewable energy home improvements
Once you have done some background research to give you a clear idea of what you want, we then advise you to give us a call to discuss your Renewables project. From there we can plan the next steps, our first step would be to visit the property / premises to offer our advise on how to proceed, including the different options that you can choose from
